論文の謝辞－（2）その他の一般的な援助を受けたの場合の英語の書き方

資金援助のほか様々な援助があります。例えば、下記のような援助を受けた場合でも、謝辞として記載することがあります。但し、翻訳と直接関係はありませんが、特定の個人の名前を挙げるときは、その人の承諾書を入手することが必要です。また、その人の最高学位も記載します。

• 統計の評価
• 報告書の作成
• 特殊なテスト
• 研究の実施
• 編集
• 執筆上の援助
• 事務的な援助

英文例）

• XXX(名前), MD(学位), performed the biopsy, contributed the orbital computed tomographic scan, and provided the exenteration specimen; YYY, MD, confirmed our histopathologic diagnosis.
• We thank XXX(名前), PhD(学位), and YYY, MA, for statistical support.
• The ZZZ Study Group is grateful for the contributions of the many referring ophthanlmologists, without whom this study could not have been carried out, and to the study patients, whose  faithfulness to the study led to conclusions that promise hope for others with branch vein occlusion.

雑誌（ジャーナル）によっては、実質的な執筆編集の援助はすべて公開するように要求するものもあります。この場合は、名前と最高学位のほか、所属機関名と所在地も記載します。これは、援助した人々にも責任を持つことを認識してもらうためです。上記で述べたように、この場合も、本人からの承諾書を著者が取得しなければなりません。

英語例）

• XXX(名前), MD(学位), YYY（所属機関名）, Chicago, Ill(所在地),contributed to the writing of this article; and YYY(名前), PhD(学位), ZZZ（所属機関名）, (所在地), helped edit the initial manuscript.

謝辞の中で告知をする場合もあります。

• This article has been reviewed by the XXX Committee of the YYY Study of Depression and has its endorsement.

翻訳においては、日本語から英語、英語から日本語の場合、いずれも援助者の呼び名、学歴、所属機関などかならず正式名をきちんとチェックすることが必要です。
